I have built two different Macs and the hardest part was getting all the parts at a reasonable price. FTF is good for the center section and magwell. They dont have side plates and most of the other stuff is for full auto. Cobray has the side plates and every thing else but they are really expensive and take forever to ship anything. I waited 6 months for my side plates. Avast for mac review. They were the only place that had them. RPB Industries is pretty good when they have the parts available.

They ship fast and the prices aren't bad. The dont have the receiver pieces though. Only the upper and internals.
Tickbitesupply has lots of parts and good prices but like RPB they dont have receiver parts. If they don't have the part in stock it may be a while before they get them. They also have all types of uppers. Regular top cocking or side cocking, with or with out threaded barrels, and 6',10', or 16' barrels. Masterpiece Arms has the biggest selection of parts and accesories at good prices.
They dont carry receiver parts either but they do have technical pages that willl show you how every thing is put together I put mine together for about $500 for all the parts including a magazine. That covers the parts. Once you get them you need to weld them. There are ^ pieces that need to be welded. The magwell/hand grip gets welded to the center section. So does the trigger gaurd / feed ramp.
Before I weld in the trigger guard I like to sand and polish the part that is the feed ramp. The side plates get welded to the center section next. Ccleaner for mac free. There are tabs at the bottom of the side plates that align it with the center section. The last piece to get welded is the rear sight plate.
